Software Overview

 

R/C Column is a software product used for the design and analysis of load bearing short or slender column of any cross section, subjected to a combination of compression and bending moments in both orthogonal directions. The increase of the bending moments due to slenderness is automatically included in the analysis.

The R/C Column software calculates the Safety Factor against load bearing capacity failure of a column defined by the user. A column is defined by the geometrical characteristics of the section, effective length, properties of steel and concrete, size and location of reinforcing bars, design axial load in compression, and design bending moments in both directions.

The software fully complies with the column design procedure in AS 3600-2001 and AS 3600-2009, Section 10, except for unbraced slender columns.
