R/C Building - Slab on Ground

R/C BUILDING software can be used to analyze 3D building models on ground considering the soil as Liner Elastic Half-Space.  This method is known as Soil-Structure Interaction.   The raft slab is a plate element in bending, and the soil is a 3D half-space. The entire building, including the raft slab,  and the soil ‘work’ together as a combined system, which includes a soil-structure interaction effect. R/C BUILDING software allows the user to consider properly the interaction between the building structure and the soil. This method is considered to be the most appropriate analytical approach for the evaluation of slab-on-ground settlements and its effect on the entire structure.

Piles
R/C BUILDING software can be used to model piles.  (more...)

In R/C BUILDING software the soil is defined as a set of soil layer, with appropriate mechanical properties.  The soil layers can be horizontal or inclined (see picture below)

Inclined Soil Layers

The user only defines the soil material properties for the entire job (see table below):

Soil Layer Input Table

The slab-on-ground results include:
Settlements
Soil pressure
Pile reactions and settlements
Moments in the slab and beams
Punching shear check in columns
Initial settlements

Pavement design

With all so many structural building analysis software out there, R/C Building stands out as the one that has the leanest tool sets to master, yet provides the engineers with the powerful and sufficient tools to complete their design job.

Using R/C Building 2009, user can construct a model in a matter of a day or two, saving the valuable time to review the structure and modifiy the design based on the comprehensive results the software produces.

"For reinforced concrete buildings, R/C BUILDING software wins hands down as a lateral analysis and design tool, and we will continue to use it for our lateral analysis checks."
